Sarawak Domestic Trade Ministry ready for Budi95 rollout

KUCHING: The Sarawak Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry is ready to ensure a smooth rollout of the Budi Madani RON95 (Budi95) initiative on Tuesday (Sept 30), says director Matthew Dominic Barin.

He said the ministry has set up customer service counters at all branches statewide to handle queries on the initiative.

“People can come to our branches if they have any questions or uncertainties,” he said on Monday (Sept 29).

“All our officers are ready,” he added.

He advised rural residents to go to the nearest branch for information about the initiative.

The ministry has nine branches in Sarawak, including its headquarters in Kuching.

Matthew said the Subsidised Petrol Control System will also be implemented from Tuesday for eligible public and goods transport vehicles.

“We have opened applications for SKPS since September 15,” he said.

He urged transport companies to register for the targeted RON95 subsidy.

Under SKPS, 21 types of public and goods transport vehicles are eligible for the petrol subsidy.

Transport companies registered for SKPS must apply for fleet cards from their chosen oil companies to enjoy the subsidy.
