This Taiwanese Star’s Pricelessly Disappointed Reaction at Gender Reveal Goes Viral
Stephanie Chan2025-10-11T23:20:20+08:00Taiwanese celeb Aiya Chang, 37, announced in August that she’s expecting her first child after three years of marriage to her husband, affectionately known as Mr W.
Recently, she shared a video of her grand gender reveal party, and let’s just say… her guess couldn’t have been more wrong.
The celebration was no small affair. Around 50 of the couple’s family and friends showed up, all dressed in white for the occasion. As Aiya went around collecting guesses on the baby’s gender, almost everyone — and we mean everyone — confidently said boy. Even the guest board was stacked with votes on the “boy” side.
Aiya, however, was firmly Team Girl.
When the big reveal came, a giant balloon burst open and out came a shower of blue confetti and smaller blue balloons. Cue the gasp… and Aiya’s instantly iconic reaction. Her face dropped faster than the confetti, and the look of adorable disbelief had everyone in stitches.
After a few seconds of processing her plot twist of a pregnancy, she laughed as her guests cheered, teasing her to “have one more!”
At one point, Aiya even showed her husband a sweet drawing done by a friend’s little girl, joking, “See? Girls are so nice. They write you notes like this.” To which he playfully replied, “A boy will do that too.”
In her caption, Aiya shared a heartfelt note that perfectly captured her journey from surprise to acceptance:
“We thought we were expecting a little girl, imagining ponytails, dresses, drawings, and whispered secrets. But when the blue balloons rose, I suddenly understood — you are the little sapling by our side, and one day, you’ll grow into your most beautiful self.”
She ended with a sweet message to her unborn child: “Dear son, the world is big, and happiness is small. With you, it’s just right.”
We hope Aiya is really ready to be a boy mum.
