Jay Chou Sat On This Railing In Tokyo; Now It Has Its Own Location Pin On Google Maps

Fans are already planning to fly over just to take photos.

If anyone ever questions you about how famous Jay Chou is, just show them this article.

Earlier this week, a fan shared on Instagram a photo of the 46-year-old Mandopop king posing on a metal railing on the streets of Tokyo, presumably taken in the last week when Jay was in Tokyo.

The fan hilariously revealed that “the railing [he] sat on already has its [own] specific location [pin] on Google maps”.

The exact spot that Jay was at? The location is pinned at 25-1 Sarugakucho. Shibuya, Tokyo, just outside Timberland Boutique in the Daikanyama area.

Named “Jay Chou’s railing” in Chinese, it has been categorised as a “tourist attraction”. (Hm, does this mean the Japanese government can start taxing him?)

8days.sg has since verified this piece of information on Google Maps, and yes, said location pin really does exist.

We don’t know what prompted the fan to make such a random discovery, but let’s just say Jay himself was impressed too, and even left a laugh-until-you-cry emoji on the post.

Fans have also been replying to the star’s comment, urging him to “sit on more railings”.

“If he sits on too many, the whole Japan will belong to [him],” another jested in response.

Don’t think that’s possible, but the country can definitely expect an increase in tourism in the near future all thanks to Jay’s, um, choice of seating.

In fact, fans are already making it known that they’ll be “buying tickets just to fly over and take photos” with the now-famous railing.

Some have even left Google reviews on the location pin, with one raving that it’s “very good for taking photos” while another claimed to have “touched it while it was still warm”.

“It has become a tourist attraction where people have to queue up to check in. It feels so funny for some reason,” another laughed. What? You mean there’s already a queue?!

Who knew something like that can become a tourist hotspot? Can someone give Lady Gaga’s chair at Maxwell Food Centre a location pin too?

The man probably just casually found a spot to sit for a pic

This is how influential the Mandopop King is

We checked, it really is there

For anyone who intends to fly over for the railing too. You’re welcome

Can ‘Lady Gaga’s chair’ in Singapore get a Google location pin too?
