Sabah Barisan continues strategic talks to put people first
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Barisan will continue engaging in strategic discussions with component partners to prioritise people’s interests in the coming state election, says Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin.
The Sabah Barisan chief said the party’s priority lies with the people, not individual or factional agendas.
He said it is important that Barisan combines experience and capability to ensure Sabah progresses in a stable and competitive environment and added that the approach must remain people-centred.
Bung said this after meeting MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong at his residence on Tuesday (Oct 21).
The meeting saw Umno and MCA leaders exchange views on current issues and discuss Barisan’s direction ahead of the state polls.
“This meeting further strengthens Barisan’s commitment to remain a mature, structured and principled political coalition,” he said.
“Despite Sabah’s changing and challenging political landscape, cooperation and trust among Barisan component parties remain grounded in our shared responsibility to the people,” added Bung.
He said MCA’s urban strength and Umno’s rural influence continue to form the backbone of political stability in Malaysia.
Bung added that this combination is crucial to ensure Sabah advances within a stable, competitive and people centred political environment.
“Stability is not merely a slogan, it is a responsibility and an act of sincerity to build a better and more united future for Sabah,” he said.
He said the meeting took place in a warm and cordial atmosphere, reflecting Barisan’s strong camaraderie.
