Umno AGM: Veep reminds unity govt component parties to be mindful of words against Umno

KUALA LUMPUR: Parties within the unity government are reminded to be mindful of their words against Umno, says Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.

The Umno vice-president stressed that the current administration’s component parties should refrain from making rude and disrespectful statements that can hurt the feelings of Umno members.

“Umno has never interfered in the internal affairs of other parties. We do not intrude into your house and do not ever attempt to enter and destroy ours.

“Our patience has its limits. Our tolerance has its boundaries. And our respect also has its limits.

“If others treat us well, we are equally capable of returning that kindness. But if anyone intends to do harm to us, we too know how to retaliate a thousand times over,” he said during the winding-up speech for the president’s policy speech at the Umno general assembly 2025 here, Saturday (Jan 17).

The Pahang Mentri Besar also thanked Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi for making moves to ensure former party president Datuk Seri Najib Razak is released from imprisonment.

“As a Pahang-born; who has personally felt the emotional pulse of the people who remain steadfast in defending Bossku (Najib).

“This is not solely about an individual; it is about justice and humanity.

“I am deeply moved and truly appreciate the courage shown by the president in his policy speech, in which he openly appealed for compassion and pleaded with His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, so that Najib may be returned to the embrace of his family and reunited with the party he built through immense sacrifice,” he added.
