Husband flees after woman dies with bruises, injuries

KAJANG: A 38-year-old woman, believed to have been beaten, died with bruises all over her body at a private hospital here.

Her 32-year-old husband, who sent her to the hospital, could not be located shortly after she was pronounced dead.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zaid Hassan said the hospital’s nurse alerted police that the woman had died at 12.15am on Sunday (July 23).

“The husband went missing shortly after discovering that his wife had died.

“Initial checks revealed that the woman had bruises and injuries all over her body,” he said in a statement on Thursday (July 27).

The woman’s body was sent to Hospital Serdang for post-mortem, he added.

“There are bruises and various injuries all over her body and a pathology expert confirmed that the cause of death is that she was being beaten with a blunt object, causing serious internal bleeding.

“We believe the incident occurred at an apartment in Sungai Long,” he said.

The case is classified as murder and police are investigating the motive, ACP Mohd Zaid said.

Police are hoping to contact Mohamed Imran Mohamed, 38, to facilitate investigations.

Mohamed Imran’s last known address is B-11-11, Apartment Sutera Pines, Jalan Sutera Pines, Sungai Long Kajang.

“We urge those with information on the case to contact investigating officer Asst Supt R. Umesh at 012-6114900 or any police stations,” ACP Mohd Zaid said.
