“We intentionally designed a subtle physiological reaction to show his desire towards the girl he likes,” said the TVB actor.
Does TVB have plans for more less family-friendly content?
Recently, TVB actor Kalok Chow, 27, was called out by netizens for having an erection during a love scene with co-star Rosina Lam, 36.
In new TVB drama My Pet My Angel, Kalok’s character has a dream about making out with Rosina’s character.
He pins her to a wall before slowly leaning in to kiss her. Sadly, he wakes up before the magic happens and finds himself sitting alone in his living room.
That’s when netizens noticed that Kalok was sporting a very visible boner through his shorts.
“His little brother is standing up!” commented one netizen.
While that may not be a big deal for a generation weaned on HBO and Netflix, we have to remember that this is a TVB drama. And that families watch their shows.
Believe it not, Kalok’s physical ‘reaction’ was actually part of the script.
According to the actor, he and the crew had a discussion and felt that it would make sense for that to happen.
“The scene was about my character, who is full of vim and vigor, dreaming that he got together with his crush. We intentionally designed a subtle physiological reaction to show his desire towards the girl he likes. We hope it would resonate with the viewers who managed to spot it,” he said.
And spot it they sure did.
Guess we can say that TVB is going um, hard, when it comes to pushing the envelope.
