Jessica Hsuan Says Her Slimmer Face Is Not Due To Plastic Surgery But This Procedure
She also says she regrets not getting it done earlier.
Hong Kong actress Jessica Hsuan, 53, is one of those stars who don’t seem to age.
Just check out how good she looks in this barefaced selfie.
Earlier this week, Jessica made an appearance at a sake event where she revealed that she enjoys good food and always has the alcohol readily available at home.
But being in showbiz, there is pressure to stay slim, so she tries to strike a balance.
“I might worry a little during summer, but luckily it’s getting closer to winter, so I can eat more when I wear more clothes,” she said.
Jessica went on to share that she recently met up with some friends and they expressed concern for her health after she appeared thinner.
“They were worried that I was ill because I looked too thin,” she said.
She clarified that she’s still healthy and that her slimmer face is not a result of weight loss, but a treatment to correct her slanted jaw.
Turns out her lower jaw slants downwards and the dentist advised her to wear a mouth guard to correct it.
“I thought it was because of my age, but after I corrected it for two months, my face shape changed. That’s why everyone thinks I look thinner!” she said.
She was initially skeptical if the treatment would have any effect.
“The doctor said if I weren’t appearing on screen, it wouldn’t be necessary, but it can make me look better on camera so it’s a worthy investment,” said Jessica, stressing that it’s not plastic surgery.
She joked that she regrets not finding out about it sooner ‘cos then she can look slimmer and indulge more.
She added that all is good after the correction and that her jaw doesn’t hurt even when she does lymphatic massages and gua sha on her face.
When asked if she’s excited to return to work now that she looks more beautiful, Jessica, who hasn’t gone on vacation since the pandemic, shared excitedly that she she’s going on a trip with three girlfriends to Japan, South Korea and Thailand.
“If I have a great time, I will come back a bit plumper, then I’ll have to slim down a bit afterward,” she said.
Well, eat first, worry later.
