Ouyang Nana, 23, Travels With Louis Vuitton Bags To Study In US; Accused Of Flaunting Wealth

Well, she is the ambassador for Louis Vuitton.

After taking a break from college during the pandemic to focus on her showbiz career, Taiwanese actress and cellist Ouyang Nana finally resumed her studies in September this year.

The 23-year-old is currently studying cello at the Berklee College of Music in Boston.

But even before she returned to campus, Nana created quite a stir.

When she touched down in the United States, Nana shared several snaps of herself, some of which showed her with at least three Louis Vuitton bags.

In a pic in an elevator, she is photographed with her Camera Box, which costs NT$100K (S$4.3K), and Keepall Bandouliere duffel bag (NT$86K or S$3.7K).

In another pic, she has with her the Horizon 55 suitcase, which costs at least NT$120K (S$5K)

Netizens estimated that the total value of her LV bags exceeded NT$300K (S$12.7K).

Unsurprisingly, she was criticised for flaunting her wealth, and sarcastic netizens even asked if “she’s going college just to pose for pictures”.

However, fans came to Nana’s defense, pointing out that she’s been the brand ambassador for the French luxury house for at least three years and that is part of her job.

Her older sister, 27-year-old actress Ouyang Nini, who has an impressive collection of designer bags, has also received her fair share of criticism.

Recently, she became a trending topic after sharing a video of her Hermès shopping haul in Hangzhou which included scarves, sneakers, jewellery, and purses.

The highlight was her Halzan bag, which is said to cost at least S$8K.

Mean netizens criticised her for “having achieved nothing, and yet buying a bunch of Hermès bags that were beyond her financial means”.

They also said she was “riding on her sister’s fame”.

Furious, Nini snapped back: “What’s it to you! Did I spend your money? Think about how you are going to make money to buy Hermès! Don’t just sit there and be sour grapes.”
