Man charged with distributing drugs in Ipoh
IPOH: A 47-year-old man has been charged at the Magistrate’s Court here with distributing about 9,200 grams of heroin.
A. Nathan was charged under Section 38B (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act before Judge Siti Nora Sharif here on Friday (May 17).
No plea was recorded.
The accused was said to have committed the offence at the parking lot of a hypermarket in Station 18, Taman Pengkalan Jaya here at about 1.15pm on Monday (May 13).
No bail was offered.
Siti Nora set Aug 5 for mention.
Earlier this week, Perak police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said the police had arrested a man and found 20 plastic packets containing drugs believed to be heroin in a sling bag in the basket of the motorcycle he was on.
The man also tested positive for morphine.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Nur Aqilah Syaza Ariffin prosecuted.
