Male Fan Moves Jay Chou To Tears With Heartfelt Confession During Concert: “I Really Think You Are So Handsome”

Anyone else going to make the 45-year-old cry when he comes to Singapore in October?

It seems Jay Chou’s concerts are starting to get sentimental.

Last month, the Mandopop King passed his S$19K Dior jacket to a lucky fan to use as a raincoat during a concert in Hangzhou.

This time the Taiwanese singer turned on the waterworks when a male fan expressed his immense love for Jay at a concert in Fuzhou last night (May 16).

The fan listed the three times he met Jay, including the time when Jay held a concert in the UK, and when Jay married Hannah Quinlivan at Castle Howard in North Yorkshire, England.

Jay got hitched to Hannah back in 2015 in a fairytale-like wedding that was estimated to have cost NT$23mil (S$1mil).

He also shared how Jay gamely came out to take pictures with everyone waiting outside the wedding ceremony.

“I [identify as] am a straight man, but from the bottom of my heart, I really think you are so handsome, Jay,” the fan declared.

He then went on to say how unlike other singers who have faded into obscurity, Jay has always been there for them and promises him that his fans will always be there to listen to him.

His words seemingly moved Jay to tears and the singer was seen turning his head to hide his emotions.

He later put his hand to his chest as the audience cheered.

Jay then regained his composure after wiping his tears way, going on to sing ‘Maple Leaf’, one of his biggest hits.

He later took to social media after the concert to address the vulnerable moment with a clip of the crowd singing along to the song.’

“Brother [Jay] doesn’t usually shed tears easily. I don’t know if it’s because I have become a father. However, I still want to thank the friend who requested the song, and the group of people who waited outside my wedding castle,” he wrote.

Jay also promised his fans he would continue to work hard for them.

Will any fans attending the Singapore shows be able to top that?

Jay is slated to perform three nights from Oct 11 to 13 at the National Stadium and tickets are priced between $238 to $398.

Tickets go on sale via Ticketmaster from 10am on May 29 for OCBC Cardholders, while general sales start at 10am on May 31.

This will be the third time the Carnival Worlds Tour is in Singapore, having been staged here in 2022 and 2020.
