Simon Yam’s 20-Year-Old Model Daughter Is Now A Student At Columbia University
Ella Yam, the daughter of Hong Kong actor Simon Yam and Chinese supermodel Qi Qi, isn’t called “second-gen star with the most potential” for nothing.
Not only is the 20-year-old making her mark in the modelling world, she’s got the smarts too.
According to Hong Kong media, Ella, who was enrolled in the London School of Economics, is now studying at the prestigious Columbia University in New York.
On May 29, Ella posted a snap of the Columbia University library on Instagram Stories with the caption: “First day @columbia uni!”
This led to speculation that she had transferred to the Ivy League school.
Responding to a comment that welcomed her to the city, Ella replied: “The NYC adventures begin.”
Qi Qi, who has also shared photos of herself in New York, is believed to be accompanying Ella as she embarks on this new chapter in her education.
For those who don’t know, Columbia University is a private university, ranking 17th in the Times Higher Education 2024 university ranking list.
The annual tuition fees at the institution are said to cost as much as US$65K (S$88K).
