“Can’t I Do Without A Man?”: Samantha Ko, 37, Snaps At Netizen When Urged To Get Married During Live Stream

If you find kaypoh relatives and their incessant questions about your love life and marriage annoying, it’s a lot worse when you’re a celeb.

Just ask TVB actress Samantha Ko.

Last week, the 37-year-old was chatting with her followers on live stream when a netizen left a comment urging her to get married.

The remark triggered Samantha, who raised her voice asking: “Why does everyone ask me when I’m getting married? Why do I have to get married? Can’t I do without a man?”

In future, think twice before you ask her about her marital status, okay? 

She’s probably too busy to date anyway.

Samantha has seen her popularity surge in recent months after winning best supporting actress for her role in hit show The Queen Of News.

She has reportedly been raking in the big bucks making appearances in China and is currently shooting TVB martial arts drama titled 武林 (Wu Lin).

The actress, who is currently single, previously revealed on variety show Memories Beyond Horizon that she has had her heart broken before, so it’s better to focus on career as “it’s something [she] can control”.

Since her showbiz debut in 2008, Samantha has only admitted to dating Hong Kong singer-songwriter Tang Chi Wai.

In 2020, the pair reportedly split after dating for five years following rumours that he had cheated on Samantha.
