QuickCheck: Were two cops hurt when a car crashed into their vehicle in Selangor?
A VIDEO circulating on social media shows what appears to be police personnel by the roadside with a damaged patrol vehicle in the background.
It was said that they were hurt when another vehicle crashed into them at a Shah Alam traffic light junction, and it was also claimed that the crash occurred while their mobile patrol vehicle (MPV) was responding to a call, with its siren and beacon lights on.
Is this true?

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the incident occurred at about 8.10pm on Saturday (June 29) when the police team was en route to the Seksyen 7 commercial centre, responding to reports of a fight.
“The patrol vehicle, with its siren and beacon light switched on, was crossing the Persiaran Kayangan-Persiaran Bestari junction when the other vehicle rammed into it. The two policemen suffered face and hand injuries as well as bruises. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured,” he said in a statement on Monday (July 1).
ACP Mohd Iqbal said both men were rushed to Hospital Shah Alam for treatment.
“The police MPV’s fender, left side door and windscreen were damaged while the other vehicle suffered damage to its bumper, bonnet, radiator and engine.
“We urge those with information to contact traffic investigating officer Insp Zaharizul Zamri at 019-3229097,” he said, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
