The Kid From The ‘Baby Shark’ Music Video Is Now 15, And He Looks Just Like A K-pop Idol
It is the year 2016, and you can’t walk past a toy store or a kid with an iPad without hearing “Baby shark doo doo doo doo doo doo”.
The ‘Baby Shark Dance’ video was uploaded to YouTube in June 2016 and quickly become the most-viewed video of all-time then. To date, it has garnered 14 billion views.
The song, produced by Pinkfong, an education brand owned by South Korean company SmartStudy, was sung by 10-year-old Korean-American singer Hope Segoine.
Child actors Park Geon Roung and Elaine Kim Johnston starred in the viral music video.
Time sure flies, and Geon Roung is now 15, and making the rounds on the internet for how good-looking he has become. (Sorry to the parents still watching seven-year-old Geon Roung as part of their daily routine.)
According to his online profile, Geon Roung is still very much involved in showbiz, and has been part of South Korean co-ed kids group Play With Me Club since 2019.
He turns 16 in September, and has 118K followers on Instagram. A common question he gets asked on IG? “Is this the Baby Shark kid?”
Many were surprised at how handsome Geon Roung has gotten, with some saying he “looks just like a K-pop idol now”.
It seems Geon Roung is well on his way to becoming an idol if he wishes, if the number of “marry me” and “I love you” comments on his page are any indication.
As for us, we’ll be spending the next few hours getting the ‘Baby Shark’ tune out of our heads…
