Fendi Selling Lollipop Holder That Costs S$870
Who knew you could stow your lollipop in a holder to finish it later?
Neither did this writer.
It seems luxury brand Fendi and lollipop maker Chupa Chups feel every lolly owner needs a leather holder that serves as a necklace or bag charm.
The damage? A gulp-inducing $870.
The holder also comes with five limited-edition Chupa Chups packed in Fendi’s trademark monochrome print.
We checked and had a giggle when we saw that a bag of eight Chupa Chups cost S$2.80 at a nearby supermarket.
Also, we can only imagine the looks of amusement when these craftsmen were producing these lollipop holders.
TikToker Didier Zheng also poked fun at the collaboration in a video, cheekily writing, “When you pay £490 (S$870) for five lollipops, so they gift you a holder”.
The video has since garnered more than 858K views at press time
Netizens took to the comments with many saying it is ridiculous that one needed a holder for the candy.
“I’ll never understand rich people,” read a comment while another lamented that Didier had “just spent my salary on lollipops”.
One even joked that “This is something I will buy on AliExpress as a joke and never use again”.
However, a few fired back at the criticism with one commenting, “No one is stopping you if you can afford it.”
