M’sian Singer Cuts Ties With Younger Brother For Compulsive Gambling & Scamming Her Fans

Over the years, Dior’s brother had racked up “hundreds of thousands” in debt and borrowed from loansharks, resulting in their sister almost being kidnapped.

Malaysian singer-songwriter Dior, also known as Da Ying, has taken to Instagram to expose her younger brother Ansenn Tan’s misdeeds and announced that her family has cut ties with him.

In a lengthy post on October 5, Dior, 25, detailed Ansenn’s wrongdoings and shared snaps of him on his knees crying. She also added screenshots of text messages showing him scamming her followers.

She warned others not to be taken in by him and urged victims to report him to the police and have him arrested.

Dior revealed that her brother had been addicted to gambling since his teenage years and had racked up “hundreds of thousands” in debt.

“Every time, we believed it was the last time. We kept giving you chances, helping you pay off your gambling debts. And each time, you abused our trust, showing no remorse,” wrote Dior.

When Ansenn begged her for help a few years ago, Dior went gambling and gave him money that she won.

“I must have been crazy too at that time,” she said, adding that she later helped him to flee the country to escape his debts.

“I reached out to a friend in Australia for help, bought him a plane ticket to escape the country, and arranged a job for him. I thought he would be better off overseas. But it’s happened again and again, so many times I’ve lost count,” she recounted.

The last straw was when Ansenn started scamming people, from their relatives to his girlfriend and her family, and even Dior’s followers.

He also stole from their family and borrowed from loansharks, resulting in their sister almost being kidnapped.

“He’s lost his humanity, and he shows no signs of remorse. I don’t know if he even has a conscience left,” she said.

Her family constantly lives in fear, “wondering what trouble he might cause next” or if the loansharks would come knocking at their door or make a scene during her performances.

“Ansenn Tan, our entire family — our uncles too — are cutting ties with you. It’s come to this, and you’ll have to face the consequences on your own. Take care of yourself,” she wrote.

“I’m not afraid of embarrassment — I’m more concerned about everyone’s safety… At least that way, we can live more peacefully.”

Ansenn tried to scam one of Dior’s fans who started following him.
