Shirtless man in car with woman speeds off, almost hitting cops in KL

KUALA LUMPUR: A policeman narrowly avoided injury after a car that had stopped by the roadside sped off when approached.

Sentul police chief Asst Comm Ahmad Sukarno Mohd Zahari said that the incident occurred when two policemen were on patrol in Jinjang here on Oct 21.

He said the two policemen noticed a parked car its engine turned on. One of them parked his motorcycle in front of the car before checking the cabin using a flashlight.

“The suspect, who was in the back seat, only had his pants on and was shirtless.

“He then jumped into the driver’s seat and sped off.

“The suspect hit the motorcycle, dragging it for around 300m.

“The policemen managed to avoid being hit and gave chase until losing sight of the vehicle on the Middle Ring Road 2,” he said.

ACP Ahmad Sukarno said that there was a woman in the car as well but police could not determine what they were doing before they were interrupted.

Both suspects were arrested on Oct 22 in Batu Caves and Taman Melati.

“The male suspect was remanded until Oct 29 while the woman until Oct 24,” he said.
