In a statement posted on Facebook on Friday (Nov 8), City Hall confirmed that it had confiscated goods from at least 12 businesses during the raid in the areas concerned.
Meanwhile, all goods were taken to City Hall’s Seizure Depot in Taman Miharja, Cheras, for documentation and record-keeping.
The items seized were vegetables, fruits, seafood and poultry and immediate closures were imposed on food premises that failed to adhere to hygiene standards set by the council.
Action was taken under the Street, Drainage, and Building Act 1974 and the Food Establishment.
