Female Fan Pretends To Be Bodyguard To Get Close To K-pop Idol At Airport

To prevent K-pop idols getting mobbed at airports by fans, Seoul’s Incheon International Airport announced last October that it will allow celebrities to use the gates that were previously only open to flight crew.

But guess that wasn’t the protocol on January 2 when seven-member K-pop boy group Close Your Eyes were at the airport for their flight to Fukuoka, Japan, to attend the Golden Disc Awards.

Huge crowds had gathered to see them off and a female fan even pretended to be security personnel to get close to Chinese member Ma Jingxiang.

In a video circulating online, a woman in a black jacket and mask could be seen suddenly moving close to Jingxiang as he made his way to the departure gate.

Like a bodyguard, she walked alongside the singer, blocking other fans from approaching him.

However, fans later claimed on social media that the woman wasn’t part of his security team but an obsessive fan, often referred to as a “sasaeng.”

In a video, Jingxiang was seen awkwardly bowing to the woman and she abandoned her act after escorting him for a while.

Her actions left netizens stunned, with many expressing concern for the safety of celebrities.

“It’s shocking that the real security didn’t notice and did nothing about it,” wrote a use, while another commented: “If this is real, it’s incredibly unsafe.”

At least she ‘protected’ him from being hounded by fans.
The struggle is real for Jingxiang.
