The test led to him having intestinal necrosis aka tissue death and the man is now planning to sue his girlfriend.
A woman from Henan, China devised an interesting way to test her boyfriend’s commitment before their engagement.
Just before Chinese New Year, she insisted he experience the pain of childbirth.
She was egged on by her mother and sister who told her that this method would ensure that men would treat their wives better.
The man reluctantly agreed.
Well, in sickness and in health, right?
What was supposed to be a simple test, turned into a painful three-hour ordeal that saw the man needing medical attention.
According to the woman, she increased the intensity of the machine over the first 90 minutes before keeping it at level 12 for the remainder of the session.
In a post to Weibo, she said her boyfriend started shouting at level eight, swearing at level 10, and crying at level 12.
The man also fainted from the ordeal and experienced vomiting the entire night after the experience.
The test also led to him having intestinal necrosis aka tissue death and needed to have a part of his small intestine removed.
This happens when there is a reduction or blockage of blood flow and is usually caused by blood clots.
Of course, the marriage was called off, and the man’s family considering legal action against the woman’s family.
Netizens called out the woman in the comments for her abusive actions and nearly causing her boyfriend’s death.
“You are quite abnormal for making trouble for no reason,” read a comment while another said, “At least the man escaped with his life. There is no telling what other ideas she would come up with once they got married.”
The woman soon deleted her Weibo account after the backlash.
According to a lawyer in Beijing, her actions may be considered intentional injury, with a possible sentence of up to three years in prison or a fine between 200 to 500 yuan (S$37 to S$92)
