Sibling scissors stabbing results in serious injury in Melaka

MELAKA: A family dispute turned violent in the early hours of Wednesday (August 13) when a 38-year-old man allegedly stabbed his younger brother at their home in Taman Kandang Permai in Kandang here, before calling an ambulance to save him.

Police arrested the suspect at the scene, and he has been remanded for four days to assist with the investigation.

The remand order, until August 16, was issued by the Magistrate’s Court in Ayer Keroh here.

The 35-year-old victim sustained serious injuries in the incident, which occurred at about 12.15am (August 13) and was rushed to Hospital Melaka for treatment.

It’s understood that the brothers had engaged in a heated argument before the confrontation escalated into violence.

Police seized a pair of scissors believed to have been used in the attack, and the suspect has reportedly admitted to stabbing his brother.

Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Christopher Patit confirmed that the case is being handled by the state’s police headquarters.
