Sabah JPJ seizes 11 luxury cars being driven without valid road tax
KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Road Transport Department (JPJ) has seized 11 luxury vehicles that were found being driven without valid road tax and insurance.
Sabah JPJ director Datuk Mohd Harris Ali said the seizures were made under “Ops Luxury” conducted from June to September 2025, focusing on owners who failed to renew their road tax and did not have valid insurance coverage.
“Summonses were issued and vehicles seized under Section 64(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
“The seizures were to prevent the same offence from being committed repeatedly,” he said in a statement here on Thursday (Sept 25).
He said the seized vehicles comprised models from marques such as Bentley Continental, Lexus, Range Rover, Mercedes Benz, Ford Mustang and BMW, which were seized in Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, Sandakan and Beaufort.
