The Johor Fire and Rescue Department said it received an emergency call at 11.11pm on Tuesday (Sept 30) and deployed a team from the Pasir Gudang fire station and hazardous materials (Hazmat) unit from the Larkin fire station.

The team arrived at the site in Jalan Platinum, about 3km away, at 11.16pm.

The incident involved three victims.

However, detailed information could not be obtained as all three had been taken away by health officials before the fire team arrived, it said in a statement on Wednesday (Oct 1).

The department added that initial checks confirmed a chemical odour at the factory premises.

Air readings later returned to normal levels and the site was declared safe, the department added.
