UOB Malaysia’s Ng Wei Wei among Malaysians on Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Asia 2025 list
KUALA LUMPUR: UOB Malaysia chief executive officer Ng Wei Wei has been named among the Fortune Most Powerful Women in Asia 2025 list, which recognises 100 influential leaders driving transformation across the region.
Ng, ranked 95th, made history in 2022 as the first woman to be appointed CEO of UOB Malaysia. She returned to UOB in 2019, after spending more than a decade at HSBC.
UOB Malaysia recorded a 15.9% year-on-year increase in pretax profit for 2024. The bank is now focusing on the Johor economic zone, which is strategically located along the Malaysia-Singapore border.
Ng is among four Malaysian leaders featured on the Fortune Most Powerful Women in Asia 2025 list, alongside Teh Mun Hui of Capital A, Joanne Rodrigues of Affin Bank, and Nurul A’in Abdul Latif of PwC Malaysia.
According to Fortune, this year’s Most Powerful Women Asia list recognises 100 leaders who are leveraging regional and global volatility for business advantage.
