Details Of Lin Chiling’s Wedding Revealed
In June, 44-year-old Taiwanese model Lin Chiling announced her surprise marriage to Japanese actor and popstar Akira. But details of their impending wedding have remained a secret — until now, that is.
Yesterday (Nov 6), one of their guests leaked a screenshot of the wedding invite Chiling and Akira had sent via text, revealing that the big day is on November 17 in Tainan. Here’s what it says:
The happy couple
“To our closest family and friends,
Because you are very important to us, please accept our gift of love. Let the happiness spread.
It will be held on November 17 2019, at Tainan. A small ceremony will begin in the afternoon.
We would be honoured by your presence.
Regards, Akira and Lin Chiling.”
According to Apple Daily, the couple is set to host a low-key wedding at an undisclosed location, inviting only 100 close relatives and friends to a ceremony in the afternoon followed by a party in the evening. They also mentioned that Chiling and Akira will not be accepting ang pows but will welcome presents from their guests instead.
Will it be at the Tainan Art Museum?
Rumour has it that the couple’s wedding would be held somewhere in Huobi, which is the hometown of Chiling’s dad. Pundits have also narrowed the venues down to three locations: the historic Houbi Huang Family Mansion, Tainan Art Museum and the Silks Place Hotel.
The media immediately got down to work, calling up each possible venue to confirm the news.
Or the historic Houbi Huang Family Mansion?
The 5-star Silks Place Hotel declined to comment, while the art museum revealed that someone had indeed checked the place out. However, they are unable to confirm if it’s Chiling and Akira ‘cos no official document has been signed yet.
There are also reports saying that Chiling prefers her wedding to be held at the family mansion, which was built in 1927, as it would be meaningful to carry out the traditional Taiwanese wedding customs there.
Guess we’ll only know on that day itself.
Or a simple outdoor wedding at Silks Place hotel?
In response to the speculation, Chiling released a statement via her management thanking everyone for their interest.
“Thank you to my media friends for your concern! It will just be a really small gathering with family and friends on that day, and I will definitely be sharing photos after that! I’m really sorry that we aren’t able to invite everyone. I will be holding [my wedding] in Tainan, as I would like to share the same memories as my parents. Thank you all, you’ve worked hard,” she wrote.
Okay lah, don’t ask already
Not satisfied with the model’s answers, journos then contacted Chiling’s older brother, Lin Zhihong, but failed to get any info out of him.
“I think you should be confirming this with her or her team,” he laughed. “If you are gonna manipulate my words, I’d rather you go ask her personally.
