Ipoh-Born Model Gets RM158 MILLION Just For Breaking Up with Macau Tycoon Alvin Chau
Sometimes, the lives of the rich and famous often feel so incredibly detached from reality. But then again, we have to remind ourselves that wealth does allow you to do a lot more than the regular person does, as this story from the Shanghaiist comes to show!
While most of us go through break-ups with a tub of ice cream and some long, late nights of crying ourselves to sleep, Ipoh-born Malaysian-American model Mandy Lieu managed to bag herself a seriously sweet deal when her relationship with Macau tycoon Alvin Chau ended!
Despite being already married, there didn’t seem to be any stopping the insanely wealthy 45-year-old Chau from getting together with 34-year-old model Lieu, to a point where Lieu had given birth to three of his children, which she had been raising in London. Their relationship spanned over 5 years, beginning in 2014.
But even after having three children with him, Lieu could see that the possibility of Alvin divorcing his wife was pretty unlikely, especially when considering the fact that Alvin’s wife had publicly told other women to stay away from her husband. Alvin has two children with his legal wife.
So in light of that fact, Mandy decided to break-up with him. And in doing so, Alvin generously paid her a ‘break-up fee’ of over HK$300 million (RM159 million)!
Well, while she may no longer be dating a tycoon, we have to say that a consolation prize like that is definitely nothing to sneeze at! We hope the money goes to raising her 3 kids well!
