Godfrey Gao Reportedly Had The Flu And Worked Non-Stop For 17 Hours Before His Death
Taiwanese-Canadian actor Godfrey Gao, 35, passed away earlier today (Nov 27) after suffering from sudden cardiac arrest during the filming of a Chinese reality show Chase Me in Ningbo, China.
According to reports, Godfrey was down with the flu two days prior to his death.
It was reported on a Chinese website that Godfrey had attended an event in Taiwan on Monday (Nov 25) where he bumped into Vanness Wu and Taiwanese actor Lan Juntian. At that time, Juntian observed that Godfrey “appeared unwell” and that it seemed like he had the flu.
Despite being ill, Godfrey reported for work on the set of Chase Me in Ningbo the next morning (Nov 26) at 8.30am.
All was fine until 1.45am this morning (Nov 27) when the star suddenly collapsed during a running challenge after reportedly saying that he “can’t go on anymore”. By then, Godfrey had been working continuously for 17 hours.
