Another 9 Confirmed Cases | 158 Confirmed COVID-19 Cases In Malaysia
The Latest Update on Confirmed COVID-19 Cases in Malaysia
In the statement released by the Ministry of Health (MoH) Malaysia yesterday, with the additional 9 COVID-19 cases reported, Malaysia’s number of confirmed cases has been brought up to 158 cases.
Among 158 cases:
– 26 cases were detected among persons under investigation (PUI)
– 127 cases from close contacts
– 2 cases where patients suffering severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) detected through surveillance
– 1 case where patient suffering influenza-like-illness (ILI) detected through surveillance
– 2 cases who were part of the humanitarian aid missions
There were 6 recovery cases as updated to yesterday. All cases that were tested negative for the virus have granted permission to return home. With the newly discharged cases, thus making a total of 32 fully recovery cases up till now. There are 3 patients who are receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the moment of writing
Health Advice from MoH
MoH once again called out the attendees of the tabligh gathering that was held in Masjid Seri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur from Feb 27 to Mac 1 2020 to contact the district health office nearby to test for the COVID-19.
On the other hand, the public who are involved in the gathering were asked to cooperate and to follow the advice given to make sure that there is no spreading of the COVID-19. MoH has informed the International Health Regulations (IHR) Focal Point (FP) about this mass gathering.
Meanwhile, MoH urged the public to not spread COVID-19-related fake news pertaining to the tabligh gathering. MoH will keep on updating the situation of COVID-19 in Malaysia from time to time.
