M’sian Doctor Mentions Lack Of Ventilators & ICU Beds, Asks People To Listen To Health Ministry

Ever since the spike in Covid-19 cases throughout the nation, many have been advised on hygiene and daily activity. As many opt for safety, there are also many that insist on travelling and living life as per normal.

According to medical doctor, Dr. Hasnor Safwan, citizens need to think before acting. With 9 cases on ventilators in the ICU, he wrote on the lack of them in hospitals via a Facebook post. He reminded the public that even though there have been no deaths in Malaysia, without the ventilators, the 9 ICU patients would not be able to make it.

He also said that ventilators are used by many, like patients with chronic diseases, asthma patients, lung and heart surgery patients and critical accident victims. Besides ventilators, he also stated that the ICU beds in the hospitals are limited as well.

Thus people should think about cause and effect before deciding to travel or going to high-risk areas. This is so that hospitals do not need to decide who lives and who doesn’t.  Dr. Hasnor implores people to think about others and to heed the advice given by Malaysia’s health ministry (KKM) to curb the spread of the virus.
