Twins Arrive in Hong Kong in Hazmat Suits
Due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, Hong Kong web drama Female Medical Examiner JD <女法醫JD> has to temporarily halt production in Malaysia. Its cast members, including Twins’ Charlene Choi (蔡卓妍) and Gillian Chung (鍾欣潼), Kenny Kwan (關智斌), Carlos Chan (陳家樂), and Jeana Ho (何珮瑜) all returned to Hong Kong from Malaysia last night, greeting reporters while wearing hazmat suits.
“They’re show props,” said Charlene when asked about the hazmat suits. “We asked to borrow them. It’s impossible to buy these in the market now! We were lucky.”
“Everything is indefinitely closed, so might as well come back home,” said Kenny. “We don’t know how long the wait is going to be.”
Per Hong Kong law, the cast will have to stay quarantined at home for 14 days while wearing their location wristband. “It won’t make a difference,” said Carlos. “We were already quarantined in Malaysia, so we might as well come back and be happier quarantined at home. The outbreak is getting worse in Malaysia. We didn’t even have the option to go out.”
Kenny said he has already purchased a treadmill to exercise at home.
Their management and the show’s producer, EEG, will have testing kits available to conduct COVID-19 tests on their artistes.
