Roxanne Tong is Disappointed She Can’t Go on Vacation with Kenneth Ma

Edwin Siu (蕭正楠), Roxanne Tong (湯洛雯), Jessica Kan (簡淑兒), and Sammy Sum (沈震軒) were present for the blessing ceremony for their new drama A Smile Across the Mortal World <一笑渡凡間>. The blessing ceremony was delayed due to the pandemic, and the drama will actually complete its filming in two more days. When asked whether she will make use of her upcoming free time to spend with boyfriend Kenneth Ma (馬國明), Roxanne shared that she was disappointed they could not go on vacation together.

Since the cast and crew are known to pull all-nighters when a drama is in the middle of production, Roxanne exclaimed that she needs to sleep for a few days first after filming is completed. “I am currently in work mode now, and I’m thinking about how to act a scene tonight where I have to be in the rain.” Reporters pointed out that Kenneth is almost done filming as well and asked whether they would be going on dates. Roxanne shared that they have no plans yet, “We can’t travel right now, so we’ll do normal things like go out to eat dinner.”

Reactions have been overwhelming positive towards Roxanne and Kenneth’s new romance, but Jazz Lam (林子善) was a bit upset that Kenneth did not tell his close friends about his new relationship. Roxanne replied, “We weren’t going to tell anyone until it was stable. We were also busy working, and I didn’t tell my good friend Jennifer Shum (岑杏賢) either.” Roxanne said she will wait for Kenneth to arrange a dinner with his friends and would love to attend as a couple together. As she has worked with Jazz and Natalie Tong (唐詩詠) before, it should not be awkward.

A few days ago, Priscilla Wong (黃翠如) shared on her Instagram stories two of Edwin’s old Yes! Cards that she found in an old toy store. Yes! was a popular teen lifestyle magazine during the 90’s and it came with collectible sparkly cards for idols of the that era. She asked her followers if she should buy them but ultimately decided not to as they were $5 Hong Kong dollars each. Edwin did not mind and praised his wife for her frugality. “She is very frugal–she’d rather buy one stalk of green onion with the HK$5.” At the time, Edwin’s fans had collected his cards and gifted him with the entire set so he has them already. He reminisced that he was 24 or 25 years old when the photos for the collectible cards were taken and has many good memories of those times.

Reporters poked fun at Roxanne and asked if she had collected Kenneth’s cards, she laughed, “At that time, I liked Lillian Ho (何嘉莉) and Cecilia Cheung (張栢芝) so I collected their cards!”
