Joe Chen to Get Married?

Taking part in Chinese reality show Meeting Mr. Right 2 <女兒們的戀愛2>, sparks flew between 42-year-old Taiwanese actress Joe Chen (陳喬恩) and Malaysian rich second generation Alan Chen (曾偉昌), and the two became a real-life couple. The show’s director even revealed that the couple will be tying the knot soon, raising further speculation!

High Profile Dating for Two Years

Labelled as a golden bachelorette, Joe was invited on reality show Meeting Mr. Right 2 where she and Alan, who is nine years her junior, had a simulation of couple life on the show. Eventually developing feelings for each other, the two openly admitted their romance on Weibo, where they often shared their lovey-dovey interactions.

With the upcoming fourth season of Meeting Mr. Right announced at a recent networking event by Hunan Television, the show’s director was speaking on stage when he unexpectedly divulged that marriage bells are in the air for the Taiwanese actress. “Meeting Mr. Right will be having its fourth season! Usually when (it’s said) that female artistes are dating, there will be doubt about whether it’s for real. I’m not sure about other stations’ programs but for us, the show’s been four years into the making and it has been real every time, including what we recall about Joe Chen getting married, so the show is really doing well.”

While the rumors evoked much online chatter, Joe’s manager quickly played down the situation by saying she has not heard about any such plans.
