Leehom Wang (王力宏) divorce turned vindictive, when ex-wife Lee Jinglei (李靚蕾) called him out for cheating in their marriage and a social media firestorm ensued. Leehom claims Jinglei prevented him from seeing his three children for five months, prompting him to file a child visitation lawsuit. The first mediation session lasted nine hours, and the judge scheduled a continuation of the mediation for a future date.
Since Leehom and Jinglei were not present, they were represented by their lawyers. To protect their privacy and in the best interests of their children, Leehom and Jinglei at the very least agreed to follow a non-disclosure policy, where the information discussed in the mediation will not be made public.
It is evident that due to the high-profile nature of the case, the Taipei District Court is making effort to deal with the matter in a low-key manner. If mediation is ultimately unsuccessful, the case will be transferred to another department for trial.
Leehom filed a lawsuit in New York, which has issued three emergency orders requiring Jinglei to let Leehom visit the children unsupervised. However, she refused and said he can only visit them at home with agreement through text messages and phone calls. In early January, Jinglei did not allow Leehom to enter her home to see the children, which prompted the singer to shake the door in anger. On January 29, Jinglei applied to the Taipei District Court for discretionary exercise of parental authority, hoping to protect the best interests of her children.
