Let’s bring back some nostalgia. Do you remember a very adorable advertisement by Petronas back in the year 2007 starring 2 kids “confessing” they like each other? Maybe the video below can help refresh your memory.
The advertisement titled, “Tan Hong Ming In Love” was written by the late Yasmin Ahmad for Petronas and stars 2 school kids, Tan Hong Ming and Ummi Khazriena. The advertisement captured the hearts of many even to this day but have you ever wondered where are the kids now?
While we don’t know where Tan Hong Ming is or what he’s been up to recently, we do have an update on Ummi Khazriena. Recently, TikTok user @addindnial posted a video on his account sharing with the world that he’s now dating Ummi Khazriena. The video is captioned, “Sorry Tang Hong Ming, I got your old girlfriend from school”.
In the video, we can see Ummi Khazriena all grown up. The TikTok video has gained over 987.4k views, 100.3k likes and 800 comments. Netizens couldn’t believe their eyes seeing the former child star who is turning 22 years old this year.
The 30-seconds TikTok video has been flooded with comments saying just how beautiful Ummi is. Some netizens jokingly commented that they feel old now while some even asked for an update on Tan Hong Ming.

Prior to this TikTok video, the most recent update of both Ummi and Hong Ming was actually back in 2020 where they posed for Merdeka once again. In an interview with Sinar Harian, Ummi and Hong Ming shared their stories and revealed that they had no idea that they were being filmed for a Merdeka advertisement back then.
