Elizabeth Tan Details Encounter With Narcissist In Latest Comeback Single
It’s actually been a while since we last heard new music from Malaysian singer-songwriter and actress, Elizabeth Tan. Her last single “Beku”, a duet with Hazama, was released back in February 2021 along with the music video and her last and only album was “Love, Elizabeth” back in 2014.
The reason for the long wait for new music is because the singer-actress has been busy with TV and movie projects as well as focusing on her marriage after she tied the knot with her husband Ding Siew Jin earlier last year. But Elizabeth is back with a brand new song titled, “Narsis” featuring rapper Zynakal.
On 24th June, the 28-year-old released the music video for her new song “Narsis” under Warner Music Malaysia on their official YouTube channel. The singer recently shared what the new single is all about. According to the “Misteri Dilaila” star, the lyrics for the song was actually inspired by her real life encounter with a narcissist.
“The lyrics to the song is very straightforward, about a selfish man who doesn’t care about anyone. The song is also very personal to me as I have my experience with a narcissistic man where I was treated very poorly and unfairly”, she told Gempak. She also revealed that the single originally did not have a rap verse but she thought it was missing something and thus rapper Zynakal came into the picture.
The music video for the Malay-language dance track features a serious concept with the artist showing off her dance moves with her back-up dancers in dim-lit hallways. The video gained over 160k views since released and fans showed their support for the new track in the comments.
It’s unfortunate that Lizzy had to go through a terrible experience with a narcissistic man but the song that came out of it is a banger and we’re loving it. What do you guys think of the comeback single and music video?
