The secret to Mary‘s flawless base is all in the order that she applies her products.

Mary revealed that instead of applying foundation first, she contours and conceals to lay the groundwork for the face. She then covers up using foundation.

“It’s like laying down the bones under the skin,” she explained in a handy tutorial she shared on TikTok. “The contour and the highlight being the bones and the skin being the foundation.”

In the video, Mary contours her cheeks, above the brow bone, forehead and chin using a denser brush. She then uses a smaller brush to contour down the sides of her nose before adding definition at the very tip.

Next up, she applied a small amount of concealer under her eyes and down the center of her nose before buffing out and lightly applying foundation using a brush.

It’s as easy as that!
