The Real Reason Why Netflix Casted “Single’s Inferno 2” Contestant Kim Jin Young

Everything (and everyone) is connected.

Have you ever wondered why certain contestants on Single’s Inferno get cast?

At least for Season 2, some contestants seem to have been cast due to their connections. For one, Kim Se Jun works for Season 1 contestant Oh Jin Taek at Ascottage.

Lee So E is an actress under Saram Entertainment, home to many famous actors, such as Squid Game‘s Jung Ho Yeon, Park Gyu Young, and Minari‘s Han Ye Ri. She has appeared on a couple of Netflix K-Dramas recently, such as The Glory and Hellbound. 

Even Lim Min Su appeared in Netflix’s The Fabulous, starring SHINee‘s Minho (also known as Choi Min Ho) and Chae Soo Bin, released on December 23.

This is a similar case to Kim Jin Young.

Jin Young is a former ROKN UDT/SEAL. Since then, his job has been as a content creator on YouTube, known as DEX.

He certainly has duality!

Jin Young is currently registered as a creator at the broadcasting & media production company kthd studio (also known as Kick the Hurdle Studio). Most of the creators at this studio have YouTube channels related to either bodybuilding or the military.

The men pictured with Jin Young above are actually going to appear in another Netflix reality show. It’s called Physical: 100. While Single’s Inferno 2 might be similar to Love Island or even Love Is Blind, Physical: 100 is more similar to Survivor or even Squid Game! It’s actually the first Korean reality survival series for Netflix.

One hundred contestants in top physical shape compete in a series of grueling challenges to claim the honor — and cash reward — as the last one standing.

Interestingly, it appears Single’s Inferno contestant and K-Pop backup dancer Cha Hyun Seung will also compete in Physical: 100. Is there anything he can’t do?

So, in some ways, Jin Young’s appearance on Single’s Inferno 2, especially with his frequent mention of his former and current jobs, was a low-key advertisement for not only himself but even his company mates and the new Netflix show, which will be released on January 24. Everything (and everyone) is connected!

Certainly, the way Jin Young competed in all the men’s games on Single’s Inferno 2 has us thinking he would have been a great competitor for Physical: 100 too.

Besides, Kim Jin Young has appeared on multiple reality shows before.
