WJSN Fans React To Starship Entertainment Confirming Luda And Dawon Are Still In WJSN… But Only “After Soobin Spilled The Beans”
On March 2, 2023, Starship Entertainment announced that while eight members of WJSN (also known as Cosmic Girls) would stay with the company, five members decided not to renew their contracts. Luda, Dawon, Zuanyi, Cheng Xiao, and Meiqi decided not to continue with Starship Entertainment.
Hello, this is Starship Entertainment.
First of all, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to the fans both in Korea and around the world for the love and support they have shown WJSN.
Recently, we have completed the contract renewal process for eight members of WJSN: Seola, Bona, EXY, Soobin, Eunseo, Yeoreum, Dayoung, and Yeonjung.
After a series of discussions, it is unfortunate that we have to share that Luda and Dawon have decided to conclude their contracts with us. We are grateful for the hard work and dedication that they put in with us up to this point. We respect their decisions and we will support them in their future endeavors so that they can continue to succeed. Also, we would like to share that the contracts for Yuehua Entertainment artists Xuanyi, Cheng Xiao, and Meiqi’s participation with WJSN, have also concluded.
We promise to make every effort to make WJSN shine through their activities in various ways and we will provide full support to the members who have renewed their contracts with us based on a feeling of mutual trust. Please give your encouragement and support to the WJSN members who are heading on a new path.

Although Zuanyi, Cheng Xiao, and Meigi’s departure from the company was not a surprise for fans, who had become familiar seeing WJSN promote as a ten-member group following the three members’ busy schedules in China and lack of promotion with WJSN…
Fans were shocked by Luda and Dawon’s departure. At the time, many were even concerned about Luda and Dawon’s future in the group.
Especially after Dawon started to be more open with fans about topics like her actual birthday (as she promoted under a fake one for WJSN’s concept) and Luda placed in the top five of Kakao Entertainment‘s recent survival show (alongside Soobin), confirming her debut in the new virtual girl group, FE:VERSE.
However, fans still had hope that Luda and Dawon were a part of WJSN, since the group’s new logo was comprised of ten parts, which many felt could represent the ten members.
But fans were recently relieved as Soobin took matters into her own hands, confirming that WJSN still has ten members on a live broadcast.
Which fans instantly celebrated, sharing their gratitude for Soobin’s honesty.
Starship Entertainment also quickly confirmed Soobin’s words, clarifying that although Luda and Dawon had parted ways with the company, they are still a part of WJSN. In an statement to media outlets, Starship Entertainment stated, “Luda and Dawon have not left WJSN.”
Fans were beyond relieved to hear that Luda and Dawon had not left the group.
Although they joked about having “cried for nothing.”
Many fans also voiced their frustration that it took Soobin confirming that there were ten members for Starship Entertainment to make an official statement.
But at least fans can rest assured that Luda and Dawon are still a part of WJSN.
