Raymond Lam and Myolie to Lead “Modern Dynasty” Spinoff

Last year’s Modern Dynasty <家族榮耀> was an epic production featuring many of TVB’s classic stars and revolving around wealthy family politics. Due to its successful broadcast in China and Hong Kong, producer Tommy Leung (梁家樹) will be helming a spinoff series with Raymond Lam (林峯), Myolie Wu (胡杏兒), and Kelly Cheung (張曦雯).

The original drama starred Chilam Cheung (張智霖),  Tavia Yeung (楊茜堯), Him Law (羅子溢),  Raymond Wong (黃浩然), Lynn Hung (熊黛林), and Rain Li (李彩華). Due to scheduling conflicts, it is rumored that Tavia and Chilam will not be participating in the new spinoff.

Although casting has not been officially confirmed, Raymond Lam, Myolie, Him, Raymond Wong, Him, and Toby Leung (梁靖琪) were spotted out at dinner with Tommy, fueling rumors that it was a cast meetup. Tommy pointed out that while the new drama will be part of the Modern Dynasty franchise, it will not be a direct sequel and would encompass an entirely new storyline, characters, and dynamics.
