Pom Klementieff Was Inspired By A Shoebill Stork Bird For ‘Mission: Impossible’ Role
Pom Klementieff took her role in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One very seriously.
The 37-year-old actress plays Paris in the seventh installment of the film franchise, and in a new interview, revealed that she looked to the avian world for inspiration.
Pom explained that most of her role is a non-speaking one, and she had to turn to one specific bird to get her expressions just right for the part.
She told Hola! that Paris is “mysterious, strange, and a little bit insane” and said turning to a bird called the shoebill stork (which still exists) was what made her part different.
“I was doing some research on Youtube and I found this pre-historic bird that is called the shoebill stork,” she says. “I kept thinking I was this bird. It looks crazy. The beak is insane.”
Pom also spoke about the movie as a whole, saying that “as an audience member I was blown away when I watched the movie.”
“I was just trying to process what I had watched. It was just mind blowing. I think its the best Mission: Impossible movie of the franchise.”
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One will be released in theaters on July 12. Here’s what critics are saying!
