There was no U-turn on PJD Link, says Amirudin
BANGI: Caretaker Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari (pic) denies that he flip-flopped on the controversial Petaling Jaya Dispersal Link (PJD Link) project.
“I did not U-turn on anything. We have to follow procedures.
“We are an open and democratic government, not a single-minded one.

“This is not our project. It is under the Federal Government,” he told reporters after launching the Selangor General Insurance Scheme (Insan) Takaful at Bangi Convention Centre here on Friday (Aug 4).
Amirudin said the state government welcomed proposals on projects that benefit the public, especially highways and public transportation.
“This is not focused on PJD Link only.

“If PJD Link feels they are victims of the decision of the government and they can give a better (proposal), come to us and we will listen.
“How can we reject a project without listening first?
“If they have a proposal, we will go through the process again which will have to include the environmental impact assessment, social impact assessment, and traffic impact assessment,” he said.
Amirudin added that the highway project developer has to engage with the public and residents’ associations as well as local councils.
Earlier, he said this takaful version of Insan 2.0 is a continuation of the conventional Insan that has protected 5.2 million Selangor citizens since it was launched last year.
Understanding the needs of Muslims in the state, Mentri Besar Selangor Inc is committed to providing alternative protection for them, he added.
