State polls: Pig’s head found outside Perikatan’s Juasseh candidate’s office
KUALA PILAH: A pig’s head was found dumped in front of Perikatan Nasional’s Juasseh candidate Datuk Eddin Syazlee Shith’s office here on Wednesday (Aug 9) morning.
When interviewed, Eddin’s brother, Edden Amru Shith, said the pig’s head was discovered at about 7.30am.
“The pig’s head was placed on top of a Perikatan flag.
“Our staff first found the pig’s head when they reported for work. It may have happened in the wee hours as our staff last left the office at about 4.30am the same morning.
“It is very disappointing that things have turned out this way. This shouldn’t happen as everyone has been preaching about practising healthy politics.
“What happened is very unprofessional,” he told The Star when met at the scene.
Edden Amru added that Perikatan flags and banners in the area were also vandalised several days earlier.
“We don’t know who did this or what their agenda was. It’s very frustrating,” he said, adding that a police report has since been lodged.
“We should campaign positively and professionally. We are a politically mature country,” he added.
When contacted, Eddin Syazlee’s officer said they would leave it to the authorities to investigate the matter.
Perikatan’s Eddin Syazlee is in a straight fight against Barisan Nasional’s Puan Sri Bibi Sharliza Mohd Khalid for the Juasseh state seat.
Polling for Negri Sembilan, Penang, Selangor, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu falls on Aug 12.
