Police probing claim of harassment by Sepang cop

SHAH ALAM: The alleged harassment of a man against a police officer from Sepang is being investigated, says Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan

The Selangor police chief said he was aware of the allegation but could only comment in detail after more facts come to light.

“We need to be fair to both sides. Investigations have begun based on the allegation and it is being handled by the state police contingent.

“We will see that it is conducted thoroughly and fairly,” he said when met after a Merdeka Ride event here on Saturday (Aug 26).

The Selangor police chief said he would issue a press release soon.

In a TikTok video, a man had alleged that he had been harassed by a police officer from the Sepang police headquarters after a third party had filed a report against him over a supposed car sale.

He claimed that the officer was in cahoots with the complainant and that evidence of the case was destroyed.

He also alleged that the officer was caught committing khalwat (close proximity) with the complainant and that he would report that matter to the Bukit Aman Integrity and Standard Compliance Department.

Meanwhile, on the updates of the Shah Alam plane crash, Comm Hussein said more than 10 people had recorded their statements.

He reiterated that police would only take over the investigation if foul play is discovered and that the matter was still under the jurisdiction of the Air Accident Investigation Bureau.
