Simpang Jeram: Call your family and friends to vote, urges Nga

MUAR: With less than 48 hours until polling day, Simpang Jeram voters have been urged to call their family and friends to cast their votes when the time comes.

Speaking to a crowd in a ceramah here, DAP vice-chairman Nga Kor Ming said that the results of the by-election is important as it is a reflection of the public’s opinion.

“Do not think that your one vote doesn’t matter. We have even lost an election by a razor slim majority of only 14 votes.

“Call your family and friends who are working in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or anywhere else and have them come back to vote.

“It (the election result) is the reflection of the public opinion, that is why this election is very important,” he said in at the ceramah on Thursday (Sept 7).

Also present at the ceramah was Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu.

Nga also told the crowd that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s unity government needs time to maintain the stability of the country.

“The most important thing is for us to have stability in this country but we (the unity government) need time.

“Give Anwar at least 10 years or two terms to bring the country forward and maintain stability,” he said.

The Simpang Jeram by-election is set to see a three-cornered fight between Pakatan Harapan’s Nazri Abdul Rahman, Perikatan Nasional’s Dr Mohd Mazri Yahya and independent candidate S. Jeganathan.
