Son Of Late HK Actor Shing Fui On AKA Dai Sor Arrested For Possession Of 1kg Of Marijuana

Shing Yuk Man, 48, was detained on suspicion of drug trafficking, possession of a dangerous drug and apparatus for smoking the narcotic.

The son of late Hong Kong actor Shing Fui On, popularly known as Dai Sor (or ‘big fool’ in Cantonese), was arrested after 1kg of marijuana was seized from his Sai Kung home on Wednesday (Sep 20).

Shing Yuk Man, 48, who is the head of Nam Wai village where he lives, was detained on suspicion of drug trafficking, possession of a dangerous drug and apparatus for smoking the narcotic.

Drug paraphernalia seized from his home 

According to reports, police raided Yuk Man’s three-storey house at around 10.30am and found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his home.

The drugs had an estimated street value of HK$230,000 (S$40.2K).

The maximum punishment for drug trafficking in Hong Kong is life imprisonment and a HK$5 million fine (S$875K)

Dai Sor died in 2009 from cancer 

The late Dai Sor is best remembered for his villainous and comedic roles in many films, including A Better Tomorrow, Prison on Fire, and God of Gamblers. He passed away in 2009 at the age of 54 after a five-year battle with nasopharyngeal cancer.

As the son of Dai Sor and his first wife, Yuk Man was often referred to as Sai Sor (or ‘little fool’). Dai Sor has another son with his second wife.
