Anwar: Don’t make guests wait at govt events

SERI ISKANDAR: Guests at government programmes should not be asked to arrive early and wait for events to start, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The Prime Minister instructed government departments to change the practice.

“If the event requires me to arrive at 1pm, then it’s fine to invite guests to come at 12.45pm,” he said in his speech during a Ramah Mesra Madani programme with the people at Universiti Teknologi Petronas here on Sunday (Oct 1).

He said it was reasonable if guests arrived 10 to 15 minutes early for seating arrangements.

“I see in the itinerary, my arrival is at 1pm but the guests had to come at noon. Why so early? It’s not right to wait for one hour.

“It’s time wasting and not productive,” he added.
