PM has the right to invite any party to join the govt, says Dr Wee
PETALING JAYA: As Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has the right to invite any political party to join the Federal Government, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong (pic) in a Facebook post.
“The Prime Minister also has the right to form a Cabinet as well as change any Cabinet Minister,” he said, adding that no one had the right to question his decisions on this matter.
The MCA president said this in response to questions from the media regarding Anwar’s recent interview with Time magazine where he said he was open to the idea of working with PAS.
In the post, Dr Wee said that Anwar’s invitation to PAS to join the unity government proved that “in politics, there is no permanent enemy” and that it was an art that tries to make “the impossible, possible”.
He also said that PKR and DAP had worked with PAS in 2008 and 2013 and that he would not be surprised if the three parties formed an alliance again in the future.
“My suggestion is for the media to direct their questions to the PM, PAS and DAP,” said Dr Wee.
