Chinese It Boy Chen Muchi’s Alleged Ex-Boyfriend Claims He Had To Pole Dance To Provide For The Actor

Is Chinese heartthrob Chen Muchi’s career over just when it was starting to explode?

The 26-year-old, whose popularity skyrocketed thanks to the success of blockbuster Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms, was on his way to making it big but it seems his messy love life has gotten in his way.

First, Muchi is rumoured to be cohabitating with Chinese singer Chen Bing, 33. Then, it was revealed that he was married to Luo Chen, an assistant director on Creation of the Gods. They got hitched in March 2020 but divorced in August the same year.

And now, there are allegations that he was in a relatonship with Chinese actor Wu Chu Yi, 29, and was a terrible boyfriend at that.

Wait, what?

While Muchi was acknowleged the news about his past marriage and has offered his apologies to his ex-wife for the unwanted spotlight on their relationship, he has unequivocally denied dating Chu Yi.

Instead, he claimed they were just roommates.

Initially, when those rumours about Muchi dating Chu Yi first broke, Chu Yi issued a statement concurring with Muchi’s claims that their relationship was platonic.

But when Muchi accused Chu Yi of spreading the news and had sent him a lawyer’s letter, it set Chu Yi off.

On Saturday (Oct 21), Chu Yi went on Weibo live stream to air his grievances.

Chu Yi first claimed the photos of him and Muchi behaving like a couple were leaked by a common female friend.

He said Muchi was the one who initiated everything, including their first kiss, which happened in a car, and the first time they got intimate.

He also claimed Muchi took him to watch the Oscar-winning gay movie Brokeback Mountain. 

Chu Yi insisted he had no clue Muchi was married.

Chu Yi went on to reveal that he became a father at 18, and that his son’s mum is an ex-girlfriend. He also said he only started questioning his sexual orientation because of Muchi’s advances.

According to Chu Yi, he supported Muchi financially the whole time they were together. To provide for his son and Muchi, he became a pole dancer.

He was the only one paying the rent, and so would take on many small roles in web dramas to make more money.

To prove his claims, Chu Yi flashed his bank account’s transaction history to show that he had given money to Muchi on multiple occasions. The latter, on the other hand, never made any monetary contributions to their relationship.

Chu Yi then chastised Muchi for “not having the guts to own up to his misdoings”. He declared that he is not afraid of being sued as he has videos of their relationship as proof.
