Last year, Malaysian star Aeril Zafrel, 34, received a 2.27mil ringgit (S$650K) Lamborghini Aventador as a gift from his wife, actress Wawa Zainal, 31.
The actor posted an Instagram story earlier this week, revealing he had sold his car to “raise funds for the children of Palestine”.
Palestine and Israel have been involved in a decades-long political and military conflict, with recent war events resulting in the loss of thousands of innocent lives.
“I seldom use [this car] so it’s time to find it a new owner! Bye Kuning (his name for the car, which means yellow). We will donate part of the proceeds to Palestine,” wrote Aeril.
Wawa is also very supportive of her husband’s generous act.
“He sold the car. I don’t like sitting in it. The seats are very low, [and it gives me] motion sickness, so Aeril seldom drives it,” she said.
According to reports, Wawa gave Aeril the car to ‘reward’ him for achieving success in his career.
However, it only took a month for Aeril to decide they could do without it.
“I just wanted to experience the feeling of driving this car,” he said.
Looks like they have found the right time, and reason to part ways with the car.
